Why a big dog changes the install
A large dog puts more weight and movement through the door every time they use it, and a bigger opening takes more out of the door around it. So the right install for a big dog is not always the same as for a small one.
In glass and sliding doors
For large and extra large dogs we generally recommend a new toughened glass panel made with the opening already cut, whatever glass is in the door now, so the panel suits the weight going through it. The panel is made to order from the sizes we confirm with you, and we fit it on a later visit. On a sliding door, a pet door in the fixed panel keeps the door sliding as it did. In timber doors, security screens, windows and walls
A solid timber door can take a large or extra large dog door, cut cleanly and sealed against the weather. We also fit big dog doors into steel security screens, including Crimsafe, with the screen still locking as before, and into windows and walls where no door is in the right place.
